Organo Deepali
Organo is an eco-habitat community focusing its efforts towards designing, building and developing
sustainable habitats.
These reports explain the performance of the building under various exisitng circumstances for which
recommendations are given through rigorous iterations. Results for important aspects like the indoor
operative air temperature, air flow & heat analysis and daylighting are taken and analysed giving out
appropriate design recommendations in the end.
*The following information of this project is a brief representation of the extensive report.
Indoor Operative Temperature Analysis —
Info
The data is considered for the average temaperature on May 23rd for different iterations. There is slight
improvement in the temperature when naturally ventilated with the recommendations. The double galzing and
the internal blinds with 1m overhangs helps in preventing the direct exposure of sunlight into the
building.
*Note: The temperature in all rooms will have a good effect with the usage of blinds, curtains etc
to reduce the direct heat gain during the hotter days. Natural ventilation and AC is run in a scheduled
manner under regulated conditions to produce optimum results.
Iteration_01 - Natural Ventilation - Double glazing with internal window shading (the high reflective blinds fixed mid pane) and 1m overhangs over all windows.
Iteration_02 - Natural Ventilation & AC - Double glazing with internal window shading (the high reflective blinds fixed mid pane) and 1m overhangs over all windows.

The image shows the interaction of the air in the balconies that are placed in the west. The first floor room balconies engages with more air due to the natural flow of air while hitting an object. (downward to upward). The outdoor patio and the FF lounge engages the most air in the west side of the building along with the first floor balconies.

As the predominant wind direction is from West to East, there is a velocity drop in the East side of the building. The diagram clearly shows how air if flowed through the building. The blue lines show the dip in the velocity of the air. The outdoor patio and the FF lounge on the west recieves good air flow.

Daylight Maps —
Samples of the Study and Analysis done for the M.Bedroom GF
North | Base case
North | Iteration: Increased window sizes for better daylight coverage
The ideal useable lux values for a residence ranges between 110 lux - 2200 lux. Anything more than 2200
lux
or less than 110 lux is not suitable and is considered uncomfortable daylighting.
The darkest spots in the daylighting maps of the rooms indicate the spaces that recieves less than 110 lux
which is not sufficient and would require artificial lighting in those places. Although more than 50% of the
room area recieves daylight after iteration therefore the minor spots can be neglected based on the
requirements.

Master Bedroom GF
The temperature is almost evenly distributed across the room except for the areas near the windows. The air flow is slightly lesser compared to the other bedroooms but widely spread across the room.

Air drawn in
The above graphs depict the amount of air that is drawn in and out of the respective windows. The graph shows that the east window proves to intake more air than the north window indicating the west to east wind direction for the summer months. The line of air flow for the common spaces is achieved with cross ventilation.
